We met in a noon prayer group and discovered we both enjoyed running. We trained and ran a half marathon in November 2019. Around that time, God gave us a vision; one that combined Glory’s doll making endeavors she’d begun in Puerto Rico with our shared love and hearts for children in our backyard and around the world. With the help of our pastor, family and friends, God is moving us toward something outside our comfort zones to reach kids who face daily challenges or are recovering from trauma. We are all in. For His kids. All for His Glory.
Most of my life has involved children. Babysitting. Teaching. Feeding. Hugging. Loving. When no one else was there. While I have one biological child--Ben Kirby, you know I love you, oodles--I am a mother to many... God gave me a heart for children and a desire to love them, especially those who, underneath, feel unloved, neglected, worthless. I understand them. I walked many miles in their shoes. Now God’s merging the desires of my heart with His for me, to do what only He can, make me a successful business owner, helping others more than myself and using every penny for the benefit of children He longs to love and comfort, just as He has me. Besides kids? Variety is key. Running. Dessert. Good hugs. Encouraging others. People watching. Spur of the moment short trips. Good conversation. Walks under bluebird skies, a cool breeze close by and Jesus holding my hand.
I am a daughter of Puerto Rico, 4th generation seamstres, I have always liked sewing and the arts, which lead me to study a Bachelor of Visual Arts. Wilfredo's wife and mother of Wilfredo, Paola and Guillermo whom I homeschooled for 14 years. This allowed me to become certified as a weaving and rag doll artisan and help at home. While making dolls I worked with various organizations contributing with my dolls. After Hurricane Maria my family and I had to move to Georgia to start from scratch in every way. Here we are involved in the church by working and doing Bible studies in Spanish. My biggest I love is God and my family, they are both my priority. I also enjoy running and seeing nature.
